Perkasie, Pa 18944.

NYC ITINERARY:
As usual the bus first stops at Bryant Park in Times Square, around 1:30pm. You have several hours to see that little Christmas Village, miniature ice rink, grab a coffee and roam around. Nearby see the big Rockefeller Center Tree and watch the skaters at the famous ice rink while eating some hot chestnuts. Take a horse & buggy ride. Go to the original Macy’s of “Miracle on 34th St.” fame. Visit Radio City Music Hall or The Late Show…there’s Music Alley, BB Kings…Madam Tussaud’s Wax Museum…Get your I LOVE NY shirt. Don’t forget your 2018 sunglasses!!

The bus leaves Times Square around 4:30 for the East Village for Otto’s Shrunken Head, a premier spot for NYC up and coming bands. You’ll find lots of places to eat reasonably, then relax, settle into the club, and get ready for some live music. (You don’t have to, you can walk around East Village, but you MUST be 21 or over to enter Otto’s, and they make no exceptions.) Odds are good that some celebrity musicians will be drifting in and out. I’ve met members of Blondie, Talking Heads, Television, The Dead Boys…lot’s of CBGB’s alumni.

This year we’re staying for 3 acts performing at 7, 8, & 9pm:

  • 7:00 pm Glue Factory brings their alt-rock back to Otto’s with new original material. NYC insists!

  • 8:00 pm Roman & The Heard with our notorious NYC line-up, including Chicago Joe Mac on guitar and local drummer Queen Jean Carno-Rosenberg.

  • 9:00 pm Frank Wood’s NYC All Stars. Frank presents a menagerie of NY talent that includes well known music industry types on guitars, horns, etc, not to mention sexy back-up vocals by the Wood Nymphs.

We leave NYC from the club at 10 pm and are back to our stops around midnight, full of stories, memories, and new friends. This trip is cheaper than an average round-trip ticket to NYC and certainly way more fun.

SOME SUGGSTIONS:
1) Bring some snacks and drinks for the way up to avoid being hungry in Times Square at high costs. In East Village your eating and drinking options are more varied and way more reasonable.

2) Google the general areas of Times Square and Otto’s Shrunken Head to get ideas of where to go when the bus drops off. You’re pretty much on your own, so know where you’re going, what you want to see, and how to get back to the bus. Or just jump out and see what happens!

3) Dress for the weather, and wear (or bring) comfortable walking shoes. Or buy there… my wife enjoys buying a new hat each year from an “authentic” street vendor. I always get a scarf or gloves…cheap! And always have some cash on you in case. You can’t haggle with plastic…if they even take it.

4) Bring a friend to walk around with. It’s pretty hard to keep a big group together though. Have each other’s contact info, and give me yours. Give this bus trip information to others that may be interested.

5) Bring Yer Own Booze but take Back Your Own Mess. Please pick up after yourself. And tip the bus driver….driving in and out of that town is amazing entertainment of it’s own!

OK everyone, I hope this answers most questions. Remember get the tickets from me or Ellie a month in advance, that’s what the bus company requires. Find me or mail your check to:

DUTCH’S BASEMENT BLUES BAND RECORD RELEASE
Saturday June 3 at Godfrey Daniels, Bethlehem.
A year in the making, Dutch’s CD “In The Basement” reveals 11 original tracks from swampy, dark boogies and rock to swinging, up-tempo blues. The “d3b”  will perform in the intimate setting of Godfrey Daniels with some possible special guests of the album. T-shirts and stickers and all kinds of media stuff will be for sale and on display. PLUS the dynamic harmonica/guitar duo of James Supra & Frank Porter opens, PLUS it’s all MC’d by WLVR’s effervescent AJ Fritz of “Fritz Rocks.” Starts at 8, don’t be late!

VISION/SOUND EXHIBIT Saturday July 15
Ronnie “Rock” Sabol, a popular Lehigh Valley face of the past, will perform with others in conjunction with Muhlenberg College and The Baum School of Art’s VISION/SOUND exhibit. The event will focus on the “80’s and ’90’s original music and art scene of the Lehigh Valley. Art and artists will be exhibited on three occasions over the summer at the various schools. The bands will be at Allentown’s Alternative Gallery, a factory full of artists and exhibits of it’s own. Not a BYOB, but beer and wine are available with a “donation.”

NYC BUS TRIP Sunday July 16
Wake up from Ronnie Rock’s retrospective and nurse your hangover on the way to NYC! Reserve seats for our chartered, BYOB bus, a great way to enjoy the sights and sounds of NYC hassle free, at low cost ($40) and with free music! We’ve done several years in a row of these trips and everyone comes home safe, happy and before midnight, with great experiences of eating, drinking, and their own souvenirs from personal sightseeing. The day ends with the Heard and Glue Factory at NYC’s original music hotspot Otto’s Shrunken Head. Contact me to reserve ASAP, we ask you reserve a month in advance by June 16. The bus leaves from Quakertown at 11am and Easton at 11:30am

REGGAE  June 17 , 18
Bahama native Barrymon took The Heard and carefully showed them proper Island rhythms and grooves and dubbed them NATIVE I&I. He’s a dynamic front-man not to be missed, performing popular covers and island standards. They will perform at Lansdale, PA’s new club The Underground Saturday June 17. A free drink comes with your on-line ticket purchase of $5. Fair deal. Not in Lansdale? The next day, Father’s Day, June 18, see him in Skippack at Basta Pasta, outdoors on the patio, in the afternoon from 1-5pm.

ALTERNATIVE ROCK June 24, July 21
Dual-guitar based, melodic, original rock along the lines of REM/Foo Fighters is GLUE FACTORY. See GF Saturday June 24 at The Little Red Mill Rooster Fest in Clinton NJ (4pm), Sunday July 16 at Otto’s Shrunken Head, NYC (7pm), and The Underground in Lansdale Friday July 21. Joining them in Lansdale will be AUDIO SLAVES OF THE THIRD WORLD, an eclectic rock group that’s performed at the Troc and other larger Philadelphia venues. All of this at THE UNDERGROUND, your place for enjoying big-city entertainment without traffic and parking hassles!

OK that’s what’s up for June and July. August is already shaping up but I’ll worry about that later.

HAVE A GREAT SUMMER EVERYBODY

From Roman, D3B, Glue Factory, I&I, and everyone here at Uncle Wagon Records

Happy 2017 from Roman Music! It’s a new year and exciting right from the start!

DUTCH’S BASEMENT BLUES BAND (D3B, DBBB) are in the process of recording their first CD to be released in the Spring. The band has officially been booking for only one year and they already have 10 or more originals. Some have been captured live on You Tube from various shows, with titles like “Satchmo Scat”, “Our Country Song” and “Hoodoo Stew”, but look for them and see The D3B every chance you can. They’re always entertaining and moving fast.

Dutch has his own website promoting his D3B plus a Duo side project of ours, “Dutch & Roman”.
Check: dutchmanmusic.com

Another storm looming over the horizon is the return of The Fux (F.U.X, FUX). The Fux started in 1996, touring the US, UK, and Europe on a DIY Punk Rock circuit, sweeping local LVMA music awards of the time, and releasing 3 full length CD’s in the process. They recently found a friendly, appreciative and accommodating venue to allow their friends and antics in The Eagle Hotel, Quakertown, Pa.

The F.U.X. flex their muscle every other month exclusively at The Eagle with a show that typically contains one or two opening original music acts, starts around 9 or 10pm, and is followed by The FUX at midnight. There’s never a cover, and other bands interested in performing with them should contact me.
Find the Eagle on Facebook at: facebook.com/eaglehotel

Finally, there’s UNCLE WAGON RECORDS (UWR), basically a Home Base for more side projects like Roman Alone (instrumental blues and jazz), Kind Of Blue (jazz-rock and fusion), Glue Factory (alternative rock originals), Roman & The Heard (classic rock), and Native I & I (fronted by authentic reggae singer Barry-Mon Green Sanchez) and of course Dutch & Roman, D3B, and The FUX

Pick and choose what you need for any occasion and UWR will find the right guys to do it. Here’s the website for all the bands and their links: unclewagonrecords.com
